DAYS HOTELS’ SCOOPS TOP ACCOLADE

February 2008

Four of Ireland’s PREM Group managed, Days Hotels, have received the top award of five ‘sunbursts’ in this year's Days Hotel +GX, quality assurance programme. Days Hotel Dublin Park West; Days Hotel Kilkenny; Days Hotel Galway and Days Hotel Dublin Airport all scooped the top accolade at a recent ceremony in London. This is the first year that the Irish Days Hotels have entered the programme which aims to promote product consistency, increase brand awareness and enhance guest loyalty across the Days Hotel chain worldwide. The programme involves an inspector conducting an unannounced visit and review of the hotel from a guest’s perspective including reviewing the property’s physical condition; appearance; cleanliness; and compliance with Days Inn standards. The ratings are then published in the Days Inn directory and on the Days Hotel website so guests can recognise these properties as hotels which have exceeded standards of cleanliness, quality and service.

Commenting on the win, Jim Murphy, Managing Director, PREM Group said “The entire PREM Group management team would like to acknowledge the hard work of all our general managers and their staff. The Days Hotel brand worldwide is synonymous with quality and comfort at an affordable price and we are delighted that the Irish hotels have been recognised for their service excellence.

PREM Group, Ireland’s leading hotel specialist today officially unveiled the new Days Inn logo at a ceremony at Days Hotel Dublin Airport. The new logo is part of the Days Inn brand’s revitalisation plan aimed at appealing to a new generation of guests while maintaining the brand’s core principles of service and value.

Featuring a friendly modern typeface and bright yellows contrasting with a deep blue, the new logo will be rolled out across Days Inn properties worldwide over the next year. Days Hotel Dublin Airport is the first Irish property to carry the new logo.

In 2007, Days Inn UK & Ireland launched Daybreak® breakfast which allows guests to have breakfast in the hotel restaurant, or to choose a ‘grab and go’ option. The Irish Days Inn properties have also launched free internet access across their portolio.

Days Inn will also introduce a new customer service initiative; which states the brand’s service pledge to guests.  An employee training programme and customer service standards focused on guest interaction will be implemented in support of the promise early next year.

Days Inn Senior Brand Director Belinda Atkins said: “We are consistently looking at new ways to enhance our service and appeal to guests. By refreshing our logo and implementing our revitalisation plan, we are confident that we can keep the Days Inn brand fresh and appealing to current and prospective guests, including younger guests.”

The logo refresh is the first in 37 years, reflecting the brand’s contemporary offerings.

Commenting Jim Murphy, managing director of PREM Group said: “In Ireland, the Days Inn brand is going from strength to strength. In the past two years, we have grown the brand from zero to nine locations across the country and the brand is now firmly established in both the corporate and leisure markets. The brand is synonymous with comfort and quality at an affordable price. This revitalisation strategy will further enhance the brand offering and attract new customers to the brand.”
